BR 2-06: Thumbelina (2008 Susanna Davidon)

 ""(Susanna Davidson. 2008)
I’m typing about Thumbelina. I know this story and I like very much. Thumbelina was first told by Hans Christian Andersen, who was born in Denmark in 1805. He said he heard this story from a swallow, who had a nest outside the window of his house in Denmark. The swallow came to him one summer and sang him the story. My favorite part is “Will you stay with me and be Queen of the Flowers?” he asked. “Yes, said Thumbelina, happy at last. Then all the others flowers opened and tiny men and women appeared. They each gave Thumbelina a gift. Best of all was a beautiful pair of wings, so she could fly from flower to flower. And the swallow
swooped above them all, singing a joyful song. Let’s read it.                      [133 words]
